On Tuesday, May 14, the United States Trade Representative (USTR) announced that Section 301 tariff action on certain products from China would be continued with tariff levels raised dramatically on some products. While children’s bicycles, bike trailers, and electric bicycles have been excluded from these additional tariffs in the past, the status of those exclusions is now uncertain. If the exclusions end, the cost of these products will increase dramatically. That means fewer people, especially kids, riding bikes.
