Take Action to Protect Funding for Safe and Connected Places to Bike

Your voice matters! Congress needs to hear that funding for ATIIP is critical to invest in safe and connected active transportation networks.

Ask Congress to support $200 million in ATIIP funding in Fiscal Year 2025.

On March 19, the U.S. Department of Transportation opened applications for the FY2024 round of ATIIP funding with nearly $45 million available for active transportation projects. With your help, we can urge Congress to reappropriate the program at $200 million in FY2025 to meet the growing need for bike infrastructure funding in communities across the U.S.

The Active Transportation Infrastructure Investment Program (ATIIP), established as part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law of 2021, offers critical federal funding for the construction of bike paths, trails, and other active transportation projects. This program provides technical assistance and grants to build safe and connected bike networks nationwide.

A lack of safe infrastructure is the most cited barrier to participation in bicycling. ATIIP funding is  essential to growing equitable transportation options for all Americans. You can take action today by telling Congress that they can’t ignore the growing demand for active transportation infrastructure in the United States.

Join us in asking your member of Congress to support $200 million in funding for ATIIP in FY2025 to ensure that communities like yours can invest in safe and connected bike networks. We encourage you to make the letter your own and explain why these projects are vital to you, your family, and your community.
